A little cryptic title for my long-overdue first post in 2013, but I’ll quickly explain. Having a wisdom tooth removed is not an experience I would wish on many people, yet is something I had to go through this past week. A couple of weeks ago I got a pain at the back of my [...]
Germany under the Third Reich: A colour photography special (1 of 4)
Found these pictures online today and it looks like they come from Time Magazine, but I can’t find any mention of them on the Time site. So I’m now bringing to you the first in a four-part series of a fascinating insight into Germany under the Third Reich in colour photographs. I’ll try to post the pictures in chronological order so you can see how the country changed under the Third Reich. Quite scary to see how things changed there but a great post here for anyone with a slight interest in history and things like that. If you like the photos, tell me what you think: images it creates, your favourite photos etc.
Part 2 of this collection is here.
Part 3 of this collection is here.
Part 4 of this collection is here.

Hello Dave,
Thank you for sharing these pictures.
In my opinion, colour photos look much more realistic than black and white ones.
What’s more, I’m especially interested in colour photos and video footage from Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.
Could you tell me where you found these photos and whether they are also available in a higher resolution (more than about 800×600 pixels) ?
That would be great.
I’m currently working on a project for school and it’s great to be able to include some of these pictures into my presentation.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Greetings,
Gary

Gary,
Thanks for visiting the site and I’m glad you liked the pictures. I actually found them on some Russian site, the name and address of which completely escapes me now.
I have the pictures in a slightly higher resolution (1200×800 or thereabouts). If you let me know either by comment or the contact form which pictures you are interested in I could email them across to you.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your help and such a fast reply.
If it’s ok for you, I would be thankful if you could send me all HQ Pictures via E-Mail.
I think it would be the best to put all the pictures into a Zip or Rar File.
Thanks again!
Greetings,
Gary
